Sleep Easy event- Sleep rough so others don’t have to!
Across the country 17 YMCAs organised "Sleep Easy" events to raise money to change the lives of local homeless young people.
MP Steve Pound cheered up the fundraisers with a midnight visit and Revd. Liz Moody of St. Christopher's, Hanwell, spent a night out in the cold.
Revd. Liz Moody says: "We were sleeping rough so others don't have to. The proceeds go to the YMCA who provide accommodation for people who have nowhere they can call 'HOME' and helps them to break out of the cycle of homelessness.
Your gift could help to change a young person's life - by giving them a secure place to grow into their full potential.
One personal story - I met a young man who had escaped from the Taliban in Afghanistan and managed to get to England aged 14. He was alone. At 16 he was housed at West London YMCA where he flourished - gaining 4 grade 'A's at A level and is now at London School of Economics. This is one success story. There are many more."
