How do I book my child on to one of your classes?

To book on to our classes come in to 25 St Mary’s Road reception fill in a registration hand it in and pay.

What is the minimum age for children to join your classes?

Babies aged 8 months can join our crawlers class

Can I pay for half a term?

Yes. For example if the term is 14 weeks, you will only pay for the 7 weeks.

Do I have to stay with my child?

Only if your child is under 3 years old.

Do you have parking at St Mary’s Road?

Yes, but you must have a valid parking permit. Your Childs membership card is your parking permit.

How much is membership and do I have to pay for it?

Membership is £6.50 and yes it is compulsorily for all children who attend our classes.

What do I wear for gym class?

Shorts, West London YMCA T shirt (£5.50), Girls can wear red leotard with bare feet

What do I wear for ballet class ?

For girls:

• Short sleeved pink leotard
• Separate pink skirt
• Pink ballet shoes - strings pulled taut and knotted. (Elastic can be sewn to make shoe more secure by folding back heel and attaching to the fold at the top of the shoe, then crossed over front of shoe)
  
  From Grade 1, character shoes with low heel and character skirt
  Grades 4 and 5, black leotard with separate pink skirt

For boys:

• White t-shirt
• Black shorts
• Black ballet shoes
  

What do I wear for tap class?

Red leotard with skirt attached and black tap shoes

What do I wear for judo class?

For the first few lessons your child can wear comfortable flexible clothing once your are sure your child is enjoying the class you can purchase the uniform. This is called Judo Gi.

What do I wear for Irish dancing class?
Shorts or skirt above the knee and T shirt of any colour.

What do I wear for modern dance class?

Black jazz pants or trousers, Black T shirt, Black jazz shoes or trainers

What is modern dance?

Modern dance is a mixture of jazz, street dance contemporary disco and dance for stage to modern up to date music as well musical theatre.

What is gymnastic class and what will my child learn?

• Balance
• Coordination
• Strength
• Flexibility.

Are there any skills my child needs to know before joining gymnastics class?

Yes your child must be able to follow instructions, maintain good posture, have good listening skills and complete the following:

• Forward roll
• Hand stand
• Cartwheel

What do the numbers on the gymnastics badges mean?

Gymnastic badges run backwards from 7 ending at 1 which means your child has achieved total body control.
