What is West London YMCA Foyer?
- Supported housing for 16-25s where learning and Life Skills are just as important as the accommodation.
- It helps young people, who are homeless or in housing need, move from dependence to independence.
- It offers somewhere to live, training, personal development, job searching facilities and other essential services, together with community involvement and resettlement opportunities.
- Young people commit to training as part of their stay.
- It offers all round support and individual learning plans based on need.
- Achievement rewarded.
What happens in a Life Skills session?
Weekly sessions on:
- Finding a job
- Reading, writing and number skills
Monthly sessions on:
- Drugs awareness
- Alcohol awareness
- Sexual health
- Food hygiene, nutrition and cooking
- First Aid
- You and the law - your rights and responsibilities
- Moving out and moving on
And there's Foyer Federation Events too:
- "Foyer Live" music event - a talent show every year
- "Foyer Voice" - a monthly magazine written by Foyer residents
- "Tackling Skills" - working with the BBC to learn about sports commentary and journalism

Accessing the Service
Supported Accommodation
Referrals are accepted from the London Borough of Ealing's Single Homeless Persons' Unit, the Contact Assessment Team and Social Services. Referrals can be made between 9am and 4pm Monday to Friday.
Staffing
The building is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days per year.

Facilities Provided
Residents have a games room and garden with a children's play area. A restaurant provides a full English breakfast and three course evening meal for residents. It is open to non-residents as a fully licensed restaurant at lunchtime.
Residents are also able to benefit from a well equipped training room which has:
- 11 computers
- basic skills tuition
- POA sessions
- employment skills including interview techniques
- CV building and job search
- CLAIT, ESOL
- practical living sessions
- IT courses
